The subtropical plants transform into alpine meadows as you reach higher landscapes. Both parks feature a range of flora and fauna species adapted to their various weathers, from subtropical vegetation in the lower elevations with animals that can adjust to this type of environment to alpine plants at higher altitudes with animals that can live in severe cold. These plants are essential to maintaining the region’s ecosystem, assisting not only wildlife but also the livelihoods of local communities.

Cultural immersion: Interact with local Sherpas and explore ancient monasteries

The Everest region is a challenging yet remarkable journey that is famous not only due to breathtaking landmarks but also because it provides trekkers a great opportunity to deeply discover unique Himalayan cultures and traditions, especially those influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Amidst the awe-inspiring mountain giants, the Everest region has become a revered destination where Tibetan Buddhism has blossomed over the centuries because of locals that preserved it well, keeping distance from modernity. Every season gives a unique experience in different places of Nepal. However, the ideal periods of the year to do the Everest Base Camp Trek via Jiri are spring and autumn, which include March to May and late September to November. These months are suitable for the trek through the classic route of EBC because of stable weather and moderate temperatures. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, etc. The trail condition is good, and lodges are open throughout the region for trekkers. You will find a huge crowd on the trails to the EBC because these seasons are favorable times of the year for trekking in the Khumbu. If you trek in spring, you get a great chance to walk along blooming rhododendron forests with their fragrance and witness the activities of wild animals in their natural habitat. The autumn season offers you the opportunity to be involved in festive celebrations as national festivals like Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath occur during this time.

Monsoon brings rain to several parts of Nepal, making the trek challenging through muddy and slippery paths. In the winter, it is quite difficult to walk on icy and snowy terrains as well as tolerate severe cold as the temperature decreases to minus degrees at nighttime. If you want to enjoy panoramic Himalayan vistas in the winter season, there are destinations like the Langtang Valley Trek, Mardi Himal Trek, and Ghorepani Poonhill Trek, which go through lower elevations but give a similar experience of mountain scenery. There are rain-shadow areas like Upper Mustang and the Dolpo region for the monsoon trek. However, you should prepare properly with every crucial piece of equipment since these treks take you to high-elevated Himalayan landmarks.
