What to expect during the Kathmandu Tibet Everest Base Camp tour 14 days?
The 14-day Kathmandu Tibet Everest Base Camp tour offers a perfect blend of Nepali and Tibetan heritage and a lifetime adventure. Starting from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, you will travel across the vast Tibetan plateau via beautiful Tibetan towns to reach the north Everest Base Camp.
The journey has a lot to offer visually, spiritually, culturally, and historically. You will have three full days to visit monuments, galleries, and museums in Kathmandu.
You will visit tourist sites like Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Likewise, you can also visit the Garden of Dreams and Narayanhiti Palace on your free day.
On the fifth day of the tour, you will travel from Kathmandu to Lhasa. The flight will take around one hour and fifteen minutes, during which you can see jaw-dropping views of the Himalayan mountains.
Land in Lhasa and meet our Tibetan representatives at the airport. They will drop you off at the hotel. Take a rest and drink lots of liquid to acclimatize.
You will spend the next two days in Lhasa, visiting historical sites such as Potala Palace, Sera Monastery, Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. These places will provide a deep insight into Tibetan art, architecture, culture, and beliefs.
From Lhasa, you will drive to Gyantse, crossing Kora La (5,010 m) and Kamba La (4,794 m). While driving to Gyantse, you will see the beautiful views of Yamdrok Lake and Karola Glacier. Visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery in Gyantse.
The next morning, leave Gyantse early and drive to Tashilhunpo and Kumbum monasteries. Explore these places and continue the ride to Shigatse. On the way, you will see the vast yak and horse pastures of Nyangchu Valley.
From Shigatse onwards, you will drive to Rongbuk, crossing the Gyatchula Pass (5,200 m). Along the way, stop at the Sakya Monastery. Rongbuk is the last settlement before the Everest Base Camp. You will stop driving here and walk a couple hundred meters to the base camp.
On this day, you will witness jaw-dropping views of mountains like Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Shisapangma, etc. After exploring EBC, you can spend the night at Rongbuk monastery or return to Shigatse.
You will now drive to Kerung, the border town of Tibet and Nepal. Our team will pick you up at the border and drive you to Kathmandu. You will have one free day in Kathmandu and fly back home the following day.
