Destination: Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath:

Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Bhaktapur Durbar Square is entered through the massive royal gate and opens up to a most unspoiled complex of palaces, shrines and other landmarks in the Valley. On the right is pair of statues in stone of Ugrachandi with her 18 arms. Then there is the Rameshwor Temple. In the middle of the square is the gilded statue of King Bhupatindra Malla seated on a tall stone pillar, and faces the most exquisitely artistic Suun Dhoka, or the golden gate, Leading into the royal place. The royal place is also known as the "place of 55 windows", next to which is the National Art Gallery. The inner portion of the palace has the Taleju courtyard and her house. Beyond is the Sundari Chowk. The outer perimeters of the complex is replete with pillars and pavilions: Chyasalin Mandap, Durga Temple, Taumadhi Tole and others. To the right, and in another square, is the famed 30-meters (98 feet) Nyatapole Temple (built in 1702), the tallest and most multi-roofed edifice in To Nepal. To its right is the Kashi Bishwanath Temple. On the side of the square is the vantage Nyatapole Café, and beyond it is the community of the famous potters. There are marvelous pottery squares where you can see the living workshop in pottery turning the traditional wheel, making different item and draying it.

The itinerary leads to the distant Dattatreya Square; it is name after the triad deities Bharma (creator), Bishnu (presenter) and Mahesaor (emancipator). This Square is famous place for wood carving as well. The peacock and lotus windows along the Pujari Math are the great in wood carving consecrated to Humanity representing in 16th century technology.

 

Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath is the one of the most sacred Hindu temple in the world; it is dedicated to the lord Shiva (god of the god). The Pashupatinath complex is very large with 492 temples, shrines, stupas Patis (public inn), Satals and other landmark. There are more than thousand Shiva lingams (Phallic symbol of Shiva).Its burning Ghats on the riverbank are the holiest in Nepal. There is no dated record showing when the temple of Lord Pashupatinath was first build but some of unclrearify carving dated found first existed at 459 A.D. However it is rebuilt several times, the present temple built by King Shiva Deva III around 1120 A.D and King Jayasthgiti Malla in the late 14thcentury.A gold plated roof, silver doors and woodcarving of the finest quality decorates the Pagoda construction. There are many great festivals,which are celebrate according to Lunar calendar such as Teej (Women fulfill festival), Balachaturdasi, full moon day and Mahashivaratri. Mahashivaratri is great night of lord Shiva, which celebrate all Shiva's temple with devotion, enthusiasm and jubilation to the greatest day of Load Shiva. Every year thousands of Sadu and pilgrimage come from India and around the world. Ancient religious scriptures said that if you visit this holy site, you can clear the way to haven.

 

Bouddhanath: The Great Stupa of Bouddhanath is a jewel point in the center of a natural mandala, a store of secret energy. It is built on flat surface, and is the largest in Nepal It is in various levels of terraces, and is painted in pastel, and is adorned with player flags. It is set in the mandala design. Altogether 108 Buddha images and 147 insets of prayer wheels adorn the base of the huge circular edifice.It was built by the LIchavi King Man Dev in the 5thcentury.

Bouddhanath is one of the most sacred places of the Buddhist. For the Tibetan Buddhist, it's even more sacred and therefore more crowded by the Tibetan Monks and Nuns than other Buddhist site. All pilgrims and devotes walk, and prostrating clockwise direction (this is known as kora), turning the mani wheels recite the holy mantras of the dates of compassion.

A Day Cultural Tour: Exploring Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa

 

Take a one-day tour that passes by some of Nepal's most famous sites and begin a fascinating tour through the country's rich cultural legacy. Morning: Bhaktapur Durbar Square

We head to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in the center of Bhaktapur city, early in the morning. Showcasing some of the best examples of Newar craftsmanship, this old plaza is a living museum of medieval art and architecture.

The imposing Nyatapola Temple, honoring the goddess Siddhi Lakshmi, will greet you as soon as you arrive. The temple's five-tiered pagoda building is a sight to behold, with its elaborate woodcarvings and figures. We will also see other architectural marvels that showcase Bhaktapur's royal past, such as the Golden Gate, the 55-Window Palace, and several courtyards and shrines.

 

Afternoon: Pashupatinath Temple

We then proceed to the holiest Hindu shrine, Pashupatinath shrine, which is devoted to Lord Shiva. This holy place, which is situated on the banks of the Bagmati River, attracts pilgrims and devotees from all over the world.We will see elaborate stone sculptures, historic shrines, and Sadhus—Hindu holy men—dressed in saffron robes as we explore the temple area. We'll also get a glimpse of Nepal's religious customs and beliefs by watching the serious rites and ceremonies that are held beside the river.

Afternoon: Boudhanath Stupa

Boudhanath Stupa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and a majestic Buddhist landmark, is the final stop of our cultural trip. There's a calmness about the stupa as we get closer, with its vibrant prayer flags waving in the wind. We'll walk around the stupa in a clockwise manner, participating in the ancient rite of kora (ritual circumnavigation) alongside residents and pilgrims. The sound of Buddhist mantras chanting fills the air, fostering a mood that is spiritually uplifting. We'll also check out the neighboring monasteries and Tibetan artifact stores.

Visa Fees

* USD 30 or equivalent convertible currency for 15 days.
* USD 50 or equivalent convertible currency for 30 days.
* USD 125 or equivalent convertible currency for 90 days.
* For the tourist of SAARC nationals, free visa up to 30 days.
* Visa is not required for Indian nationals. However, if they enter Nepal via air, they will have to show a valid identification certificate (passport/ citizenship certificate). The children under the age of 10 do not need to show identification certificate.

Visa Extension

* Tourist visa extension is done for minimum 15 days with USD 45 and USD 3 per day for additional days.
* In the case of delay less than 150 days additional USD 5 per day as late fine.

Transit Visa

When a foreigner has to get down at Nepalese airport as a result of his/her transit point or due to any force landing for whatever the reason, the foreigner can obtain transit visa for a day after paying USD 5 or any other currency equivalent.

Other General Information

* Entering in to Nepal or staying in Nepal without a valid visa is illegal.
* Tourist visa can be obtained either through the Nepalese embassy or consulate or other mission offices in your nation or at the immigration entry points in Nepal listed above.
* Visa once issued cannot be amended and the visa fees are non-refundable.
* You should pay the Nepal visa fees in cash. Credit card or cheque are not acceptable.
* Visa charges are not applicable for children under 10 years of age, however, they must obtain a valid visa.
* If you are obtaining a new passport or travel document, you are advised to contact the Immigration Department for the document transfer.
* Always carry your passport and trekking permit while on trekking.
* Some of the areas are restricted for filming. Therefore, be careful not to do the activities that are strictly prohibited.
* The culture, tradition and sentiments of Nepalese people should be respected.
* Do not perform any activities that would hurt their sentiments.
