Kakani – Nagarkot hiking is one of the longest hiking trail near the Kathmandu Valley that takes us through the Shivapuri National Park to Nagarkot along the hills that surround the Kathmandu valley with mind blowing panoramic views of the Himalayas. This hiking trail follows into the Shivapuri National park which is under the conservation as it has more than 500 species of plants and many species of animals. This hiking trail offers you wide range of flora and fauna. Throughout the hiking in this region we will have the views of Langtang, Langtang lirung, Gauri Shanker, Jugal himal along with Mount Everest in the Far East.
Kakani – Nagarkort hiking starts with a 23 km drive northewest of the Kathmandu Valley followed by a hike up to Ale danda from where we enter the dense forest of Shivapuri National Park which is home to many endangered species of birds and animals such as peopards, jungle cats and Himalayan Black Bears. Shivapuri National Park is also consists of two rivers i.e Bishnumati and Bagmati that flows through the Kathmandu Valley. Passing the Rhododendron forests we reach Chisapani from where we head towards Nagarkot, one of the best hill stations of Nepal with the view of White giants dazzling in front of us and also one of the best places for the Sunrise. Witnessing the sunrise the following day we drive back to Kathmandu.
Trip Itinerary
Day 01: We receive you at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: We drive to Kakani (1082 m), which is 23 km northwest of Kathmandu. From Kakani we hike to Ale Danda
Day 03: We continue our hiking from Ale danda to Shivapuri: This magnificent hill is covered with white red and pink rhododendrons during the months of March and April and this wonderful variety is definitely one of the reasons that hiking Shivapuri is so popular.
Day 04: We hike from Shivapuri to Chisapani: offers splendid sunrise view through mountains range. Walk along the rim between the Shivapuri watershed forest and magnificent Himalaya and at Chisapani.
Day 05: We hike from Chisapani to Nagarkot via Chauki Bhanjyang. Nagarkot- one of the beautiful hill station and best sunrise view point offering the magnificent view of the shimmering mountain ranges like Mt. Everest in the east, Annapurna (8091m/ 26,545ft), Manasalu (8165m/ 26,781ft), Ganesh Himal (7446m/ 24,422ft) and Lantang Lirung (7245m/ 23,763ft), Mt Shisa Pangma ( 8013m) Mt Gauri Shankar (7145m) and many more mountains.
Day 06: Drive to Kathmandu.
Day 07: Departure.
