Phulchowki Hill Hiking

Translating as Garden of Flower, Phulchowki ( Phul-flower chowki-garden) is the highest hill that surrounds the Kathmandu valley standing at an elevation of 2,782 meters above sea level. Located around 14 km southern of the Kathmandu valley, Phulchowki hiking is one of the richest hiking trail in terms of flora and birds watching with 570 types of plants and 1/3 of bird species of Nepal. At the top budhhist prayers flags reflect the religious values of this region offering wonderful view of Kathmandu valley with panoramic views of mountains.

Phulchowki hiking begins from your hotel where you will be picked by a private vehicle accompanied by your guide. The drive takes us to Godawari botanical garden, the starting point of our hike. This botanical garden can be a treasure for people interested in plants as it has many species within the garden premises. The trail climbs gradually up through the subtropical forest which takes around 4 hours. Enjoying our well earned lunch at the top of Phulchowki with an awesome view in front of us we head back down on the same trail which will take around 2 hours.
